The Best of 1976

This is a tribute page to 1976 and all that happened that year.  Jimmy Carter was president and it was the country's two-hundred year anniversary.  As kids we would pretend we were the guys from the TV show S.W.A.T.  We even collected the action figures but they're long gone.

Other toys we had back then included electric football (the players shaked on the iron (tin) grid), pitchback baseball trainer, battleship, clue, monopoly and oh yea a CB radio shaped like a van that really worked.  Remember C.W. McCoy's hit song "Convoy"?  None of these toys compares to the toy Trans Am!!

What else do we remember from '76?  Huffy bikes, pop rocks, wrestling greats Andre the Giant, Chief Jay Strongbow and Haystack Calhoun, psychedelic rock posters, black lights, AM radio songs like Wildfire by Michael Murphy and Crazy On You by Heart, lots of Zeppelin, Revell models, a trip to the American Freedom train, cardboard airplanes, a massive baseball and football card collection, matchbox cars, New England Patriots games with John "the Hog" Hannah and Quisp cereal with that funny-looking martian on the box.
